OUR STORY.
As an athlete, StoryIt founder Chris Herman never had a way to remember his career, and saw firsthand the untapped media opportunities in high school and college athletics.
StoryIt was founded on our flagship service; Story of the Season, to give sports programs media coverage like the pros, help them raise money, and give the athletes a way to remember their careers. Story of the Season started as a digital magazine published weekly which recapped each game of a football season with video highlights, articles, interviews and more. High school and college football programs raise thousands of dollars by selling subscriptions and advertising. After two years it expanded into high school and college lacrosse. It continues to be the staple service for StoryIt.
When 2020 presented new challenges and opportunities, including canceled seasons and closed-down schools, StoryIt began utilizing its platform to help programs with recruiting. As a result, two new services emerged: Virtual Visit and Recruiting Profiles.
Virtual Visit is a digital storytelling and recruiting platform for high school and college sports teams that helps them stand out. Virtual Visit is a custom recruiting platform and marketing website that highlights and showcases what makes a sports program unique, and the experience it offers student-athletes. College sports programs send their Virtual Visit to recruits to show off and promote their program.
Recruiting Profiles is a professionally designed digital resume of each recruit on a team containing all of the recruits’ key stats, social media links, contact info and highlight videos embedded on each page. High school and club sports teams send their Recruiting Profiles to colleges to help give their athletes maximum exposure and stand out to college coaches. Recruiting Profiles makes recruiting easier for recruiters, and gives high school teams a powerful tool to showcase their athletes with.
What started as a one-man business has transformed into a boutique sports media consulting firm that provides first class media and consulting services to high school and college athletic programs. The cornerstone of our growth and ability to evolve is the amazing people that have helped us along the way - including the generous mentors and friends that helped us when we were just an idea, the first few coaches that used Story of the Season, and our first investors that supported our growth in the beginning stages. But we are still guided by the same principle; help athletes memorialize their careers and coaches build their programs.
